If these words come to mind when you think about someone you have interacted within the Lawson Community, then this is your opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate them.
HONORARY SERVICE AWARDS (HSA)
The Honorary Service Awards program is designed by California PTA to recognize and honor the dedication of individuals and organizations in local communities for service benefiting youth. Lawson Middle PTA is proud to participate in the HSA Program.
Category of awards include:
Very Special Person Award (VSP) - This award is given to recognize an individual or organization for their service to the PTA.
Honorary Service Award (HSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual for outstanding service to children and youth in our community, going above and beyond what is asked of them.
Continuing Service Award (CSA) – This award is given to recognize an individual for ongoing or long-time service to children and youth, providing support year after year.
Outstanding Teacher Award (OTA) - recognize a teacher for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children in PTA, school, or community.
Outstanding Administrator Award (OAA) - recognize an administrator for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children in PTA, school, or community.
Golden Oak Service Award (GOSA) – This award, the most prestigious of the Honorary Service Awards, is given to recognize an individual that has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in a school or community.
* All contributions used for purchase of these certificates are used exclusively to support the California State PTA scholarship and grant programs.

Nominations due by
April 15, 2024
All nominations will be considered and are confidential. Only the Lawson HSA Committee reviews the nominations.
The HSA Committee is selected each year and is comprised of PTA members and parents. The HSA Committee reviews all of the nominations against the criteria for each award. Individuals and/or organizations who receive the awards are announced and recognized by Lawson PTA through various communication platforms.

Why is it important?
This is an opportunity to show appreciation and recognize someone who has made a positive impact or significant contribution for the Lawson community. Now is the time to consider the many individuals who have gone the extra mile to ensure the wellbeing of the Lawson community. This is a small act of altruism.
Who can we nominate?
Individuals (teachers, staff, volunteers, parents, community leaders, etc) can be nominated who deserves recognition. It can be anyone who diligently contributes their time, effort and energy towards the betterment of children at our school or Lawson community.
How are awardees selected?
At the end of the nomination window we will consolidate all the entries received. These details are shared with a panel of judges. The selection will be based on contributions detailed in the nomination forms.
